Art can be intense. Too intense for many people, turning some off from enjoying museums and galleries. So when it comes to my 3-D work, I try to be lighthearted aesthetically and put the intensity in my context and subject matter. The joy is in the color and composition, the fun is in the weirdness and oddity, and the goal remains to leave an impression. After all, that’s why we do what we do. I work primarily in wood and ceramic hand-building, but I am well versed in fiber art, metal, plaster, and readymades.
