As a photographer, I stand by the passed down idea from Richard Avedon, that a photo should capture the spirit of the situation that is captured. When I take non-figural photography, my goal is to evoke visceral emotions through textures and composition. Many of these images are in-environment, with very little intervention from me. Through editing, I am able to highlight the magic within these images and make them feel even more special than they already are.
